Bonjour! Hello! Oki! Kindergarten families,

This week in Kindergarten

We have been busy working on assessing individual EYE-TA outcomes this week. Students have been practicing sorting, identifying categories, practicing predicting, identifying numbers to 10, and naming alphabet letters.

We practiced creating and extending patterns using AB, AABB, and ABC patterns. Students cut out shapes (practicing their cutting skills to slowly cut with one hand, and steer the paper with the other), to extend the pattern as a class.

During snack-time discussions, we practiced using different time identifiers to tell about Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Students were encouraged to share what they had for breakfast/snack/dinner/lunch/etc. each day to demonstrate their understanding of time.

Students loved our “Mystery Drawings” during a whole group activity to practice drawing shapes. Students followed one- and two-step directions to complete a drawing guided by the teacher. It was fun to guess what the end image would be as we added step-by-step.
