Bonjour! Hello! Oki! Kindergarten families,
This week in Kindergarten
It has been another busy week in Kindergarten with so much excitement around Halloween! We are officially ALMOST finished assessing the EYE-TA! Yay! Students have been engaging in play-based activities to demonstrate their understanding of EYE-TA concepts.
We practiced some fine-motor skills with creating paper craft pumpkins, and making Kandinsky-inspired poppies for the upcoming Remembrance Day celebrations.
We had a virtual meeting with Saa’Kokoto and Karen Tamminga-Patton to discuss Naa’ (Mother Earth) and the beginnings of our journey in land-based art.
Our Halloween celebrations kicked off with flash-light reading with Mrs. Devitt and/or Mr. Tomczyk. We also loved touring the PumpkinFest pumpkins and discussing all of the wonderful designs. Fun Snack was a huge success! And a shout out needs to be made to Susan from the Parent Council for her creativity!
Remembrance Day
Students at Tuscany School will be honouring Remembrance Day by creating a school-wide video in place of meeting in an assembly. This will be viewed by the whole school on November 10th at school, and a link will be available for families to watch. As part of this video, families with members in the military (past or present) are encouraged to send in a photo with:
- The individual's name
- The student’s name
- Their relation to the student
- Where/when the individual served/serves
Please send this photo and information to Mrs. Glowacki (kaglowacki@cbe.ab.ca) by November 3rd.
Reminders
- No school on Remembrance Day (Thursday, November 11)
- Please dress weather-appropriate as the weather becomes cooler and snowier (we are outside at least twice a week!)
Passez un excellent week-end et joyeux Halloween!
Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Halloween!
