This week in Kindergarten
Whew - we’ve all made it to Winter Break! Kindergarten students have been incredibly busy this week preparing for the holidays. Tuscany School has been abuzz with holiday cheer including winter songs, staff videos (Jib Jabs), and PM Kindergarten students performing their version of 50 Below Zero (Papa réveille-toi) by Robert Munsch. Please check out the information below for more details on these exciting activities.
Kindergarten students also experimented this week with Tie Dye! Students were really practicing and building up their dexterity by bundling their socks into a ball and using the elastics to tie them up. A new skill for sure! They also got the chance to explore a variety of colours and see the results of their mixing at our sock reveal. You’ll have to check out their amazing creations! What fun it was to wear them all together on our PJ days. Thank you to our volunteers (including some MRU student teachers!) for supporting us on these fun days.
In the classroom, students also have had the chance to engage in a variety of winter games and activities. They created winter shapes on elastic geoboards, crafted “snow” sculptures and structures using marshmallows and toothpicks, drew patterned decorations, arranged and coloured gingerbread puzzles, created winter cards for their loved ones, and painted their salt dough decorations!
Winter Celebration
Throughout this week, each class performed a winter holiday song for the rest of the school during our Tuscany Together Google Meets. We are excited to be able to share these performances with all of our Tuscany School families as we start our Winter Break. A lyric sheet for the songs has also been provided if your family would like to sing along to the songs.

Tuscany Together
Today the PM kindergarten classes hosted our very first virtual Tuscany Together! We shared a theatrical Reader’s Theatre of the classic Robert Munsch story 50 Below Zero. The script was modified and translated by our teachers to include both English and French programming.
