Bonjour! Hello! Oki! Kindergarten families,
This week in Kindergarten
Surprise! Yet another busy week in Kindergarten with so many fun and exciting new activities. This week families had a little insight into what goes on in our classroom as you participated in our Celebration of Learning! Students were able to take on the “teacher” role, and show their families how much effort goes into practicing writing and reciting numbers/letters and new vocabulary.
Thank you to our families for connecting with us during the school conferences these past few days. It is always a pleasure to discuss your children’s successes and our next steps as a classroom community. Just a quick note that if you do have any questions, or would like to connect further, please feel free to reach out at any time.
On Thursday, we were able to visit the book fair and shop around for some awesome scholastic books and stationery items. The students really enjoyed the opportunity to “shop” independently and picked out some great resources to take home. If you were unable to purchase any items, and you would like to, please refer to the Scholastic Book Fair website for more details.
This past week in Kindergarten, our focus has been on the seasons with an emphasis on Autumn. Students have reflected on and discussed what we see in each season, such as: the colours, clothing, holidays, and types of weather outside. They discussed their favourite season and practiced this in French (“Ma saison préférée est…”).

Parent Resources Folder
We connected with many parents about sharing some resources for at-home learning support, so our Kindergarten team has created a Parent Resources Folder! Please find info below and in Google Classroom (in the Parent Resources section of Classwork).
You will need to use your child’s CBE email to log in to access the folder. Inside, you will find resources to support our kindergarten learnings at home. We will be growing the resources in each targeted folder as our needs develop and our learning continues.

Some topics you’ll find resources for include:
Social Stories: - managing emotions, - dealing with conflicts, - engaging in cooperative play | Math: - numbers: ordering, counting; - patterns | Literacy: - letters: recognize, matching (lower & upper case), sounds; - story re-tells / sequencing | Fine/Gross Motor: - games - activities for movement |
If there is something you’re looking for specifically, please send us an email!
*** If you are interested, Mrs. T has also just read an amazing behaviour book (that she's using at home with her own little guys with great success), and she would be happy to share if you’d like! skthouret@cbe.ab.ca

Next week, Kindergarten will be visiting the Coulee! We will need a number of volunteers to support our visit. In order to volunteer, you must have a valid Police Clearance submitted to the Office and have filled out a CBE Volunteer form. Please get in touch if you have any questions about this.
